From an article by Kurt Rentmester in the Door County Advocate:
Sustainability goes far beyond a way of life, being applicable to the worlds of government and business.
Door County's Agriculture and Extension Committee could recommend a resolution supporting sustainability issues in the coming weeks, after the Door County Administrative Committee had referred the matter Thursday.
That committee and other county leaders heard a presentation on the issue by Ann Hippensteel, a representative of Sustain Door Inc.
Sustainability can be used as a framework by businesses and governments to enable them to operate more efficiently and cost-effectively, said the town of Clay Banks resident.
"I see it as part of Door County's brand already," Hippensteel said. "But it would further our brand to show we are working not only for the future generations of our population, but its impact on the rest of the world because of the choices we make here."
