[Madison, Wisc…] State Sen. Randy Hopper (R‐Fond du Lac) on Tuesday toured the Forward Wind Project in Brownsville. As a part of the tour, Sen. Hopper climbed one of the 262 foot towers to see the turbine up close and to better see the wind farm in its entirety.
“I want to thank the team at Invenergy for showing me the wind farm and taking me up the tower,” Hopper said. “It’s clear that wind energy is going to be a part of Wisconsin’s energy future and it was great to get an up‐close look at what goes into operating and maintaining these turbines.”
The Forward Wind Project straddles Fond du Lac and Dodge Counties and generates 129 megawatts of electricity, providing enough energy to power the equivalent of tens of thousands of homes. Major utility purchasers of power from the Forward Wind Project include Wisconsin Public Service, Wisconsin Power & Light, Madison Gas & Electric, and Wisconsin Public Power.
